Invictus: A Poem to Inspire, the master of my fate the captain of my soul
I have a morning ritual of drinking coffee, reading a couple of chosen articles from the newspaper, and if I’m lucky, time to journal a few pages. This morning was one of those mornings. I probably came into this habit through observing my dad for so many years. He was an academic who was a fierce reader. Today is the anniversary of the day he went to heaven. And today, I feel he gave me a gift from one of his favorite newspapers to read, the Wall Street Journal.

Q: At twenty-four years old, your passion for cooking inspires many. How did you get into cooking?
A: I went away to college and had to eat dorm food my first year. I realized that my sophomore year it was a necessity for me to have a place where I could cook my own healthy food.
The Family Nest: Create Sacred Space for Houston Family Magazine
My intention and focus for these articles is to help parents build their emotional and physical capacity, whether that’s how to keep calm amidst chaos or tap into the pillars of great health. To learn how to nurture your connection first, which then radiates out to the entire family. To raise families who care — about themselves, about each other, and about the world around them.
Let’s get started. My first offering is all about how to create sacred space.

IN HONOR OF FATHERS intuition honored
Today marks a special day, a day to honor dad. As my readers are mostly comprised of mothers, it feels important to call out a special honoring today, to our fathers.

DISCOVER THE PILLARS OF HEALTH retreat
I consider myself a generally healthy and happy person. I eat well, exercise, meditate, sleep and feel supported by my relationships. I also suffer with chronic eczema. This skin rash can present itself as a small irritation, or can escalate into a raw, heat-inflamed, intensely uncomfortable whole body rash.
YOGA NIDRA: AN ONLINE COURSE EASY MEDITATION PRACTICE
The Easiest Meditation Practice I Know
It was thirty years ago when I first came to know about the power of relaxation. As I lay flat on my back in the “pose of a corpse,” my eyes lightly closed, a soft blanket covering me with my breath soft and full, time stood still. I heard the voice of my swami yoga teacher,

LANGUAGE OF THE MOON
Today, is the 50th anniversary of the launch of Apollo 11 to land astronauts on the moon. Two weeks ago the moon totally eclipsed the sun and now it’s the moon’s turn to have an eclipse of its own. Unfortunately, North America is unable to view the moon’s interaction with the Earth as the eclipse occurs during the day when the moon is below the horizon.

ONLINE COURSE: INNER COMPASS, DEVELOP YOUR INTUITION
Just as I practice yoga to keep my muscles flexible, my intuitive muscle needs to be ‘flexed’ regularly to remain open and accurate. When I do this, a powerful intuitive “knowingness” leads the way and it can feel nothing short of magic.
