This painting above resonates with me as both soft and powerful. While I painted, I thought that creating a pleasing color palette was my end goal. However, as often happens, I felt that everything wasn’t coming together, so I took a break to pull some weeds in the garden. Later that afternoon, I returned and added a few more strokes to soften the piece, and there you have it. I feel this painting expresses that same softness and strength I can find within myself.

Sacred Geometry, Vesica Picis, an etheric bridge between the union of opposites, the physical and spiritual, the masculine and feminine, and perhaps Heaven and Earth?

For me, it’s an exciting concept to ponder, a link to the hidden order of our world and the interconnectedness of all things channeled into art.

I am intrigued with sacred space.

To find harmony and order in a space makes me feel good and brings me a sense of well-being. This interest lead me to explore sacred geometry, which suggests that our world has a divine order in geometric patterns and mathematical ratios found in nature, music and light.

I believe these harmonious patterns create a vibrational pull of energy that connects us all, and a new appreciation of the world we share.

I went to Golden, Colorado last weekend. To recall the feeling as we drove up from Santa Fe is like trying to create the definition of autumn— a magical mix of crisp cool mountain air, brilliant golden fields of aspens nestled against a backdrop of deep purple mountains with ethereal white peaks. For me, the scenery created a soulful vibe that fall always brings. To take time and step out of my day-to-day coupled with the excitement of learning a new technique (from the comfort of an old friend) was a tonic to soothe my soul.
