SANTA FE BOUND
Driving across west Texas, the rain finally stops and the sun comes out, brightening up an enormous Texas blue sky. The familiar ten hour drive gives the perspective of distance and as the time and landscape change I begin to let go of our home in Texas and transition to our simple adobe in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
GIVE: LOUISIANA, A FLOOD OF LOVE
It is really not surprising to find out that any guy near Baton Rouge has been in his boat looking to rescue someone. The media coined these men the Cajun Navy, and this Southern state knows the word kindness as a verb. I am here to help, do you know anyone who needs to be rescued? What can I do for you?
TOGETHER WE CAN DO GREAT THINGS
“I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot;
Together we can do great things.”
– Mother Teresa
ANIMAL MESSENGER IN MOAB, UT
About fourteen years ago, we drove through a tiny strip of a town chiseled out of red rocks in the middle of no where, and vowed we would return one day. Last week our family took that trip back to Moab, UT.
GUEST BLOGGER: HOLLY CRAWFORD, GILT CITY SERENDIPITY
GILT City Serendipity: Introducing guest blogger, Holly Crawford
And that moment’s click brought me to you now. My editor liked the pitch and assigned me the article, so I had the good fortune to sit down with Elizabeth for coffee one morning. Little did I know it would turn into lunchtime as hours elapsed like minutes, and it would be the start of a special friendship. They say there are no accidents, and I’m a believer. She came into my life at the exact right moment with her calming voice and valuable perspective on everything from affirmations to meditation.
IN GRATITUDE FOR BOOKS
This post is in honor of my dad. Today marks his birthday and the one year anniversary of his death. Besides being a good dad and a professor who loved to teach, he was passionate for books and reading. He passed this love on to many, me included. This image is of some books from his library.
MANIFESTATION
She recently created some magic in her life and we thought it would be fun to share this experience with our readers. Her manifestation of a dream she held for herself is a testimony.
RETREAT: TRAVASSA, MIRAVAL RESORT, AUSTIN, TX
The Soul Space Retreat was the universe’s way of bringing a magical group of women together. We were meant to connect and help each other relax, let go, share, & dream. Allowing our body & mind to create soul space.
Three days of yoga, meditation, & soul work at the enchanting Travaasa Resort in Austin, Texas. Our group ranged from artists, designers, business women, mothers, & daughters from all over the world. Including local Austinites, Houstonians, Californians, and friendly foreigners from Canada & London.
Winnie The Pooh Shares Words of Wisdom
My dad went to heaven today. A poem we both love felt appropriate to share.
AFRICA: MASAI MARA ANIMAL MESSENGERS
The first night in Africa we stayed in a hotel in Nairobi as we arrived too late (3 of 4 flights) to continue traveling on. That night my dream was vivid. I woke up thinking was this for real or was I dreaming?
In my dream I met a male lion in the garden.
SCUBA: SUBCONSCIOUS FEAR BUBBLES UP
A recent summer’s adventure began in a little thatched roof surf shop nestled into powder white sand next to the turquoise Caribbean sea.

She shook her head in disbelief as her blue eyes became wider and misty with tears. Then her face became calm as she giggled to herself. She went on to tell me her story.
JEWELRY WITH MEANING HAS HIDDEN GEMS
The Jewelry Project has a life all of it’s own. When the idea of creating “jewelry with meaning” began, in all honesty I half-heartedly started the project.

SAYING GOOD-BYE TO OUR DOG, ABBEY
Nervous and jittery I sat down in the vet’s sterile exam room. We knew things weren’t good. A wave of emotion came over me. Not a Tsunami-like feeling– it was more like a slow and steady thunderstorm rolling in to break the tension in the air. What if my thirteen-year-old companion’s life was about to end?
