Many religions use the moon cycle to set their yearly calendars. This weekend’s full moon brings a surge of energy and reminds us of spring, new beginnings, rebirth–the opportunity to contemplate, “if I was able to die and be re-born, how would I change and do it different?”

Spring brings excitement and wonder. New blooms, fresh dreams. Busy with plans and projects. Within this surge of new energy, we call on Mother Nature to keep us connected and grounded.

Ocean tides, yearly calendars, women’s cycles, farmers crops, all are influenced by lunar cycles. It is evident that there is power in this practice.

Ron took me to lunch by boat last weekend. I love being on the water and always feel a bigger picture perspective on life cruising across the lake. After lunch we stopped for a swim, and chose a quiet place near the limestone cliffs.

The other weekend, a good friend shared her favorite song, “The Wind” by Cat Stevens. I grew up listening to a lot of his music (thanks to my dad), hearing this song countless times. Inspired by my friend, I recently started listening to it again.

I say, please pursue happiness. In whatever form that takes— if we love what we do, then everything tends to fall into place.

There is really no reason to suffer.

Allie, Sarah, and I are firm believers in the power of energy. Energy defined is “the ability to do work.” We feel this energy comes to us in all kinds of ways: the sacred lightness an innocent baby brings into a room, the warmth of the morning sun, the physical rush of endorphins from a strenuous hike. Good vibes or a shift into positive energy.

Summertime is time to slow down. I find my body naturally want to groove to the rhythm of relaxation.
