A YOGA VIDEO FOR KIDS

Live your Yoga

September is National Yoga month. I’ve witnessed the growth of America’s yoga love affair blossom over the decades. Yoga has a way of getting under your skin and cracking your soul wide open. Though it starts out as a physical practice, it ends up becoming much more than that. The physical asana of yoga teaches you how to connect to your body’s innate and spontaneous healing power, aligning your whole being– body, mind, and soul.  If you practice yoga, everyone who spends time with you (unconsciously) gets to benefit from your centering practice too. A natural place to begin is to teach the next generation about yoga. If a child is so lucky, simple asana, breathing and relaxation techniques give them the tools and they come to understand there is an easier, happier, more powerful way to live.

Our workshop coordinator, Allie, created a video to teach children about yoga.

Allie came to know yoga at three years of age. Immersed in a yogic lifestyle she holds the belief that the practice on your mat is the beginning of a new way of healthy living. She teaches Vinyasa with an emphasis on breathing and body awareness. Allie holds a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology (study of human body movement) a 200 RYT certification and now holds a Masters in Depth Psychology from Pacific Graduate Institute.

She passionately believes in our human body’s innate and spontaneous healing power. She will teach you to become more aware of your body, connect with your breath and relax through yoga nidra, so you leave class feeling rejuvenated in body, mind, and spirit.

If you are interested in yoga with Allie, email her at allie@elizabethirvine.com for private sessions (in Houston or Austin). If you’re in Austin, come by her class. She teaches every Friday at noon at SAY OM Yoga Studio.
